Casa Rural Chantada Casa Do Portomeñe
About
Casa Do Portomeñe is a large, historic rural house capable of accommodating more than 20 people under one roof. Its 10 rooms each have a private bathroom, which immediately eliminates the inevitable morning friction in large groups: each sub-group or couple retains its independence without disrupting the rest of the house.
The main living area is sized to bring the entire group together at once — around a meal, a meeting, or simply to spend the evening together without having to split across multiple rooms. The garden provides additional outdoor space, useful for socializing when the weather allows.
The house suits several event formats well: an extended family or friends' weekend, a milestone birthday, a small team residential seminar, or an intimate wedding seeking an authentic setting away from the noise. The layout — private rooms plus large shared spaces — answers precisely what groups want when they need to live together without getting in each other's way.
The setting is rural and quiet, in the province of Lugo, close to the Ribeira Sacra. This is an asset for groups coming in search of a digital detox, nature, or a base from which to explore the region. It is not the right address for those who want urban entertainment within easy reach.
The upkeep of the house is regularly highlighted by guests: careful cleanliness, equipment in good condition, functional rooms. With a 4.7/5 rating across 79 Google reviews, the consistency is there. For a group of 15 to 20 people looking for a complete, well-structured, and peaceful accommodation in Galicia, this is a serious option.

Perfect service and attention. Very well-maintained house. Suitable for large groups. Very spacious. If you're looking for peace and quiet and want to enjoy time with your group, this is the perfect place. Surrounded by nature. Chatada is a 15-minute drive away.
A large, old house with 10 en-suite bedrooms and a spacious living room that can accommodate over 20 people. It has a lovely garden and is located in a very quiet area, close to the Ribeira Sacra and surrounding region. The downsides are that the beds aren't very comfortable and the house is quite dark.
The house is amazing, huge, and everything is very well set up. The bedrooms are large and have en-suite bathrooms. Everything is very clean and welcoming. The owner is great, but we have to give a special mention to her dog, Nacho—we'll miss you, Nacho!
The house is spectacular. The fact that the rooms are so spacious, each with its own full bathroom, makes life very easy for a large group. It even has an accessible room. Beverly also made everything easy for us during our stay, making sure we had everything we needed despite arriving on a holiday. The outdoor area is very spacious and pleasant. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much.
An incredible experience. Fantastic for large groups. A very well-equipped house, all the rooms. Spacious. Very peaceful. The owners were very friendly, attentive to our needs, and helpful with local activities. The children didn't want to leave the house because it has such beautiful and spacious outdoor areas. Highly recommended. Thank you for everything, Beverly and family!
