At the heart of the Gard Cévennes, Barjac stands as a village of character perched on its limestone spur, facing garrigue scrubland that smells of thyme and pine resin. It is here, in this secret Occitania where the light takes on ochre hues as early as July, that the Natura Lodge has found its place — a generous cottage, made for large gatherings and reunions that truly matter.

The property accommodates up to 37 people across 11 rooms, a space designed so that each subgroup can find its own rhythm without ever losing sight of the others. In the morning, the early risers settle outside with their coffee while the rest are still asleep; that is the grace of large houses. The wifi connection allows those who need to unplug to do so gradually, without a brutal break, while the washing machine handles the logistics of long stays and families with young children.

The pool is the true center of gravity in summer. Around it, afternoons stretch on, conversations branch off, children invent games with no clear rules. Come evening, the barbecue takes over: the embers glow while someone opens a bottle of Costières de Nîmes bought at the Barjac market, just ten minutes away.

The region itself is an itinerary. The Ardèche gorges within easy driving distance, the Pont d'Arc, the medieval villages of the Uzège, and that southern light that turns any stroll into a postcard. The Barjac night market, in summer, brings together artisans and local producers in an atmosphere of quiet festivity.
