Cortijo Almazara Quintanilla

About
In the heart of the Sierra Norte de Seville, where the Andalusian hills are covered with centuries-old olive trees and cork oaks, Cortijo Almazara Quintanilla emerges like a well-kept secret. El Pedroso, a village of a few thousand souls nestled in this unspoiled natural park, sets the pace of life here: slow, generous, scented with resin and warm earth.
The cortijo takes its name from its past as an almazara — a traditional oil mill — and that history can still be read in the stone-and-lime architecture, in the ancient beams, in the inner courtyards where shade is a blessing. Wedding photographers discovered it by chance; a foreign couple on holiday fell so deeply in love with it that they chose it for their wedding: that kind of magic cannot be invented.
The house welcomes large groups with rare generosity. The rooms are spread across several levels, allowing around twenty people to share the space without getting in each other's way. The communal areas match the scale of the place: vast sitting rooms with high ceilings, a kitchen equipped to feed an entire table, terraces facing the hills. The pool offers a welcome retreat during the hottest hours, when Andalusia delivers on all its promises of light and warmth.
All around, hikes through the sierra begin easily from the gate. The whitewashed villages of the natural park — Cazalla de la Sierra above all — each deserve a half-day of wandering. The local cooperative wine cellar, the Sunday market in El Pedroso, a dinner under the stars on the way back: the itinerary writes itself.
What guests carry home in their suitcases cannot be captured in a list. It is more of a physical sensation — the softness of the late-afternoon raking light on stone, the scent of olive and rosemary that clings to clothes, the certainty of having touched something real. An inland Andalusia, far from the beaches and the postcards, that leaves a lasting mark.

We discovered the farmhouse as wedding photographers thanks to a couple from abroad who fell in love with the place while on vacation and chose it as the setting for their wedding. The location is ideal, surrounded by nature and bathed in beautiful light. It's perfect for family celebrations, intimate weddings, baptisms, first communions... and also for a relaxing holiday in the Sierra Norte of Seville. The house itself is also gorgeous and retains all its charm!

The house was beautiful, spacious, and clean, and overall the group enjoyed their stay. However, our experience with the subsequent management was very negative. Over the weekend, we experienced several significant power outages, leaving us without electricity or water for hours at a time. Furthermore, some rooms lacked hot water from the first day. Despite this, we decided not to file any complaints during our stay. The problem arose later when the property owner withheld our €100 deposit. After several weeks without any communication, and only after repeated insistence, they informed us of an alleged defect, providing only a photograph without context and without having inspected the property in our presence. After requesting further explanation and the return of our deposit, they stopped responding altogether. Everyone is free to assess the situation as they see fit, but personally, we found the subsequent management to be highly unprofessional and lacking in transparency.

Our experience at this house was very disappointing. During our stay, we suffered several power outages, including an entire morning without electricity, in addition to other outages throughout the weekend. This seriously affected our comfort and ability to use the property normally. Furthermore, one of the houses had no heating, which is completely unacceptable considering the conditions and what is advertised. To top it all off, after our stay, they refuse to return our deposit, claiming that we broke something we didn't even see in the house—a marble slab, which I've attached a photo of. We find this accusation unjustified and a complete lack of professionalism. Moreover, they informed us of this weeks after our stay.

What can I tell you about the dream of someone for whom this space was like his fourth child? A wonderful place for wonderful people

A wonderful house!!! We spent a fantastic weekend with friends and children (10 couples and 13 young children, the oldest being 5). The rooms are fantastic. There are 5 bathrooms, two indoor living rooms, and a kitchen with two huge tables. The outdoor area is very spacious and has different areas for lunch and dinner. The hosts are lovely; they welcomed us and were available for anything we needed. We took a lovely walk and saw sheep. We'll definitely be back!
