The Valcelle country house occupies a restored ancient stone farmhouse, nestled in a wooded valley seven kilometres from Pietralunga, a fortified medieval town in northern Umbria. The house accommodates up to twelve people, spread across four double bedrooms and one family room, each with an en-suite bathroom, original terracotta tile floors and exposed ceiling beams.
The shared living room features a cut-stone fireplace and opens onto a covered south-facing terrace overlooking the Apennine hills. The fully equipped kitchen is shared among guests. Outside, an eight-metre pool runs alongside a garden planted with olive trees, with a direct view of the surrounding wooded ridges. A brick barbecue, covered parking for five vehicles and Wi-Fi throughout the building complete the amenities.
The property sits within a landscape of oak and chestnut forests classified as a protected natural area. Summer black truffles grow in the surrounding woods, less than two kilometres away. Pietralunga has everyday shops, a Saturday market and a truffle festival each autumn. Gubbio is thirty-five minutes away, Città di Castello twenty minutes.
Central heating is supplemented by a wood-burning stove in the living room. Pets are accepted on request. Check-in is conducted in French, Italian and English. The property is accessible year-round.

We stayed once by chance in the winter. The landscape and village where the property is located were beautiful. The apartment was comfortable and clean. Petra and her husband were very kind. Excellent hosts. Their food was truly unique and delicious, helped by the fact that they use quality products. We wanted to return a second time in the spring to see if things had changed...everything was perfect this time too!! We'll be back as soon as we can in the warmer months to take a dip in the pool behind the property. Highly recommended.
