Le Grand Chêne

In the evenings, when the cool Sologne air drifts in, the barbecue takes over: embers crackle, glasses clink, and someone always ends up pulling out a guitar or telling a story that keeps everyone laughing deep into the night. For those who can't fully disconnect, the wifi is there — discreet, available, quickly forgotten.

The surrounding area reveals itself by bike along the greenways, on foot through the forest paths, or by car toward the châteaux of the Loire, which follow one after another like pages in a history book. Chambord is less than an hour away, but it is often Neung itself that holds visitors the longest.

What guests take with them when they leave is nothing much that's tangible: the smell of woodsmoke on a sweater, the exact color of the sky at six in the evening above the oaks, and the certainty that they will have to come back.
