Gîte de Nougerède

Nestled in the heart of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Gîte de Nougerède is a characterful cottage set in lush, peaceful surroundings, ideal for large group stays.

The cottage has 6 bedrooms sleeping up to 19 people, making it well suited to family gatherings, weekend breaks with friends, or small-scale retreats. The indoor spaces are laid out to encourage communal living, with reception rooms spacious enough to bring all guests together. The bedroom layout gives everyone a private space while allowing full enjoyment of the shared areas.

In terms of amenities, the cottage has a swimming pool for sunny days, a barbecue for outdoor meals, and a fireplace that lends winter evenings a warm and cosy atmosphere. Day-to-day comfort is taken care of with Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and a washing machine, removing the logistical headaches of longer stays. A games room rounds out the on-site leisure options, a welcome feature for groups with children or on rainy evenings.

Salles-Lavalette is a rural commune in the Charente department, close to the neighbouring Dordogne, within easy reach of towns such as Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, listed among the most beautiful villages in France, and Angoulême, reachable in under an hour. The area lends itself to hiking and cycling, canoeing on the local rivers, and exploring the architectural heritage of the Charente — abbeys, châteaux and medieval villages dot the landscape. Food lovers will find local producers, markets and restaurants nearby, showcasing regional specialities from Cognac to Pineau des Charentes. The Gîte de Nougerède is thus a comfortable base from which to explore this corner of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, while enjoying the peace and space a large group requires.
