Gîte La Pierrière

We rented the cottage for a family weekend. It was a disastrous stay: the coffee machines didn't work (not practical when there were more than twenty of us), the electricity was cut off outside in the evening (so no dinner outside), the staircase leading to the downstairs bedrooms was blocked off by the owner, so we had to go outside to shower/go to bed, but remember: without light! The showers had no water pressure, the hoses were too small, no shower mats were provided, and ping-pong paddles had to be rented for an extra €5 for the weekend... In the dormitory (above the living room with no dividing door), there weren't beds but mattresses on the floor... Passive/aggressive instructions were posted all over the house... In short, we absolutely do not recommend this cottage! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We were very disappointed. For a group of 24 people: 1 bathroom with 1 shower and 2 bathrooms with 2 showers separated by a low wall, a little tight! the towel dryers did not work so damp laundry, the shower hoses were child size. In the dormitory these are not real free-standing beds, the mattresses were placed on a box spring of around 6 cm, therefore at ground level.

Bad experience! The photos don't really show the place. It's in the middle of a housing development!!! And not in the countryside as the photos might suggest. The owner monitors the tenants, he hides. No inventory, the dishes are dirty upon arrival, the coffee makers are in poor condition, there's a lack of utensils for a 28-person apartment. He doesn't check before renting. He turns off the electricity every night at 10:30 p.m. for any reason! No pressure in the showers. He doesn't come to do an inventory but he keeps the deposit for any reason.
