Cortijo Prado Toro

About
Nestled in the Alpujarras, where the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada tumble toward the sea in terraces of ancient cultivation, Pitres holds firm like a village that has decided to surrender nothing to time. It is in this setting of white stone and centuries-old mulberry trees that the Cortijo Prado Toro makes its home — an old Andalusian farmhouse whose ochre silhouette stands out against a breathtaking panorama: mountains on one side, the Mediterranean on the horizon on the other.
From the moment you arrive, Cintia, the manager, sets the tone. She welcomes, explains, guides — the house rules, the trails to take, the corners of the property not to be missed. This human warmth, unanimously praised across 117 Google reviews (4.7/5), is perhaps the cortijo's finest amenity. The rooms are spread across several independent apartments, designed so that each group finds its own privacy while sharing the outdoor spaces: shaded terraces, an al fresco dining area, unobstructed views of the ridgelines that hikers are already walking at dawn.
Here, the day takes on a different shape. You set out early on the Moorish paths that link the villages of the Taha, return for lunch in the cool of thick-walled rooms, doze in a hammock while the cicadas handle the soundtrack. In the evening, lights come on one by one in the hamlets clinging to the slopes across the valley, and the shared table becomes the place where everyone compares the day's discoveries.
The Cortijo Prado Toro suits families looking to unplug just as well as groups of friends who have come to hike, meditate, or simply do nothing with great dedication. The kitchen is equipped for communal meals, the wifi exists for those who cannot do without it, but the strongest connection remains the one you forge with this extraordinary landscape.
What do guests take with them when they leave? The image of a sunrise over the Sierra, the sound of Cintia's voice offering one last piece of advice, and that rare feeling of having truly slowed down.

A very nice relaxed place in the Alpujarras. Beautiful view and very warm and welcoming hosts. A good place to come down and have a cosy holiday. I can highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to be far away from the tourist crowds and wants to have an individual holiday. Authentic spanish pueblos are close by, celebrating original spanish fiestas in the summer time. Will come back for sure.
A truly beautiful place, full of calm
We went to the farmhouse to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Cintia, the manager, greeted us and showed us to our apartment, kindly explaining the rules, routes, and other guidelines for our stay. We stayed for a total of three days and were very happy in every way: comfort, location, and connection with nature. The road winds through nature, so there are a few bumps, but nothing too difficult. There's a kitchen, dining room, living room, and bedroom, and best of all, they allow pets—a big plus that will make us want to come back for future holidays.
An unbeatable experience; the place is pure poetry for the senses. Surrounded by lush nature and breathtaking views. But without a doubt, what I can highlight most is Cynthia's attention and care; she makes you feel right at home. She's the one who makes the stay even more comfortable. Thank you for everything! See you soon 😊👋
We stayed there a few weeks ago. The directions were poor, the road was in bad condition, the farmhouse was poorly lit, the apartment was average, some of the sockets didn't work, the TV didn't work properly, and the shower water had to run for it to get hot; it was more like lukewarm. The place was nothing like the photos, very poorly maintained and neglected. Everything lacked attention to detail; it was a complete rip-off.
