Castello di Spessa is just stunning! We got married there last June and it truly felt like being in a fairytale. From the very fist moment of planning to our special day, the team was incredibly helpful and dedicated to making all our wishes come true. The food, the wine and cocktails were outstanding. I can only recommend this place.

We were quite disappointed. The hotel looks stunning from the outside and makes a huge first impression, but after that it’s just one letdown after another. The hotel restaurant was closed (for no apparent reason). The room had castle-style furniture, but the bathroom was in terrible condition, and there were cobwebs on the walls as if we were the first guests since Casanova stayed there. Mold in the fridge and in the shower was just the “bonus.” The toiletries were far below the level you’d expect—just one plastic cup in a wrapper and a bar of soap in a paper box, giving off a terribly cheap impression. What shocked us the most was that, as paying guests, we still had to pay extra for the wellness area—with only a 10% discount (!). On top of that, the staff didn’t allow us to use the outdoor loungers because we had paid for the indoor spa (which was twice the price), even though there were only two people outside at the time. We wanted to order a bottle of prosecco, and when we finally managed to find the attendant, she left us standing by the pool (soaking wet in 23°C) while she first collected small change and cleaned up a mattress after other guests had left. She never even came back to ask what we wanted. Absolutely disastrous and unprofessional service. Overall, the cleanliness and service in the hotel were very poor—it felt as if nobody really cared because hardly anyone goes there. The only bright spot was the excellent breakfast with a huge variety of options. It’s a pity, because the hotel still has great potential, but at the moment the price-to-value ratio simply doesn’t match. We had high expectations based on the reviews and photos, which made the disappointment even bigge

We had the most wonderful experience at Castello di Spezza. The atmosphere is stunning, the food was exceptional, and everything felt perfectly thought out. What truly made the evening special was our waiter, Romano. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly professional, attentive without ever being intrusive, and genuinely warm in his service. Every recommendation he gave was spot on, and his care and attention to detail made us feel so well taken care of. It’s rare to come across someone who elevates the whole dining experience the way Romano did. We left with full hearts (and stomachs!) and can’t wait to return.

No drinks or food to get in the main house , except breakfast. Far walk to restaurants . At the golf there are 2 restaurants , they are ok. Golf course is nice . Only pool in the spa , kids under 16 not allowed.

My wife and I had a wonderful time. This is a place with history and class. The rooms are very nicely set up for long and short time stay. We don’t golf, but there were plenty of other things to do. The breakfast which is included in the price for the room is awesome. High quality food, great variety and the staff seems to read your mind. Very professional and pleasant. Definitely a place to return to in the future.
