About

At the foot of the Navarrese Pyrenees, where the valleys open onto horizons of stone and greenery, the village of Artieda holds something intact. Time seems to move at a different pace here — the pace of flocks descending from the high summer pastures in autumn, of the Camino de Santiago trails crossing the fields in silence, of vast skies that gently press down on the bustle of everyday life. It is in this setting that Estankoenea Landetxea stands — a house of character designed so that large groups can feel truly at home.

Bright, generous, considered in its every detail: from the moment you cross the threshold, the space speaks. Eight bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, comfortably accommodate around twenty people without anyone getting in each other's way. The proportions are rare for a rural property — high ceilings, open living areas, outdoor terraces accessible from several shared spaces. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking large meals, and the dining room lives up to its promises on evenings of celebration.

What visitors consistently highlight is the attention paid to accessibility. Estankoenea has been thoughtfully designed for people with reduced mobility: all bedrooms, living spaces, and outdoor areas are wheelchair accessible, with no compromise on comfort or aesthetics. Rarely does a group house manage to combine this functionality with such rustic elegance — exposed beams, quality materials, natural light throughout.

The surrounding area invites hiking, cycling, and exploring the medieval villages of the Roncal Valley or the nearby Lumbier Gorge. The Aragonese Way passes just steps away, for those who want to walk a few hours in the footsteps of pilgrims without committing to the full route.

What groups take with them when they leave is rarely a checklist of ticked-off activities. It is more the image of a meal that stretched on and on, of a terrace bathed in golden light at dusk, and of that Navarrese silence which, once tasted, is missed for a long time after.

Wonderful country house in a village in the foothills of the Pyrenees in Navarre. Very spacious, bright, and comfortable. Fully equipped, with large bedrooms (each with its own bathroom). It also has several outdoor areas to enjoy. The owners are very friendly and attentive. 100% recommended.

A country house perfectly adapted for people with reduced mobility. All eight bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and the rest of the house, including the exterior areas, are easily accessible for wheelchair users, which is our case. Located in a very peaceful pre-Pyrenean village. Special mention goes to the kindness of Raquel, the owner.

An absolute marvel! It's enormous, very spacious. The bedrooms are also very large. You can tell it was designed with love and with a lot of thought given to its guests. It looks beautiful. The interior is too. It's also very well-equipped. A large TV in each bedroom, a huge TV in the living room, a giant table for everyone to eat together, enormous terraces, a barbecue... Oh! And a games room, with a Wii console included. We were there in the summer, and it was very hot. It stayed cool, if you take precautions, of course (closing everything during the day and opening everything at night). It has lots of light, and many windows that open completely. Very well-ventilated. In winter it's also very comfortable, with underfloor heating and a thermostat in every room. It really makes you want to walk around barefoot. It made you want to stay in the house all day. And the owner, Rakel, was wonderful. 10 out of 10!
