Haizegu Landetxea

About
Haizegu Landetxea is a cottage located in Azkilarrea, a rural hamlet in the Foral Community of Navarre, in the Navarrese Basque Country. The house is designed for large groups: stays of up to twelve people have taken place, and it features several bedrooms spread across multiple levels. The kitchen is fully equipped — utensils, appliances, and cooking equipment — making it possible to prepare complete meals for the entire group without leaving the property. Upkeep is careful and cleanliness, noted as impeccable by several guests, is a recurring point in reviews. The surroundings are quiet and wooded, with direct access to nature from the house, no car required. The surrounding landscape is unspoiled, with no notable sources of visual or noise pollution. In summer, the dense vegetation around the building tempers the heat and keeps the house comfortable even during heat waves. The Azkilarrea area sits within a territory of mountains and forests, well suited to hiking and exploring rarely visited natural settings. The nearby Navarrese villages offer opportunities for cultural and culinary discovery rooted in Basque tradition. "Landetxea" means "country house" in the Basque language, in keeping with the type of accommodation on offer. The property holds a rating of 4.9/5 across 77 Google reviews, with consistent feedback on the quality of the setting, the amenities, and group stays.

We had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful weekend with friends. The house is fully equipped with everything you need, and the kitchen is very complete. As for cleanliness, everything was spotless. Both the bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. Maite, the owner, is lovely. She was always very attentive and willing to help with anything, even offering us information about the surrounding area. A perfect house, highly recommended!
The house, the scenery, the surroundings—everything was wonderful. We spent a week there this summer, twelve of us, and we left absolutely delighted. The house was very cozy and well-maintained. The owner was a delight. I highly recommend it.
The house is fantastic if you're looking for peace and quiet, idyllic scenery, and direct contact with nature. We weren't too lucky with the weather; we arrived during a heatwave in August. However, the house is well-insulated, and inside, if you don't open the windows during the day, the temperature stays comfortably at 25 degrees Celsius. It's also well-equipped and just a couple of kilometers from the village (Arantza) in case you need anything. It's a great location for visiting both the Basque Country and the most beautiful area of Navarre, the Baztán Valley. Finally, I must mention Maite, who was very attentive and always available if you needed anything. Highly recommended.
A wonderful stay; it's a spectacular house in an idyllic location. Maite is lovely and was always attentive to our needs.
Our stay at this country house was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by its size, comfort, and beauty. The spacious garden allowed us to enjoy nature, especially interacting with the chickens and collecting fresh eggs each morning. The ping-pong table and fully equipped barbecue provided entertainment and delicious meals outdoors. However, what truly captivated us were the breathtaking views the house offers from every angle. Whether from the cozy fireplace inside or the spacious porch table, we always enjoyed unparalleled panoramas. Our host, Maite, was delightful, always attentive to our needs and ensuring everything was perfect. Definitely an experience we will cherish and highly recommend to all lovers of tranquility and nature!
