La Ferme de Fontvieille

A fantastic place to gather the family, 15 of us, using both cottages. The larger one is particularly well renovated: exposed stone and beams, split levels, and small sitting areas, perfect for adults and teenagers to each have their own space. Between the sauna when the weather was bad and the plancha/barbecue in the sunshine, the garden is also a lovely additional space. As for activities, the Sioule gorges and their meanders offered a superb environment for hiking, jogging, road cycling, mountain biking… or even rail biking. Just a stone's throw away, there's a Tibetan temple and the "Alley Cats" sanctuary, and a little further afield, Vulcania and a short climb up the Puy de Dôme. You won't be bored at La Ferme de Fontvieille! 🙂 Lionel and Julie are incredibly generous with their time, both at check-in and check-out. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Perfect welcome, very nice cottage, remember to bring your swimsuit for the sauna. The plancha grill and crepes were excellent. Great paddock for our horses. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend it.

We stayed at the gîte during our horseback riding trip, "Chevauchée en Combraille." Our horses enjoyed a large paddock with hay and feed provided. Our equipment was stored safely and securely. The unique gîte is beautifully decorated and comfortable. We appreciated the meals prepared by Lionel: grilled food on the terrace in the evenings, crêpes and open-faced sandwiches for breakfast, and delicious sandwiches for our picnics. Thank you again for your hospitality.

Disappointing: the cottage is old and not at all functional: the kitchen is upstairs, and the small staircase is dangerous for elderly people and small children. It wasn't very clean, there was a musty smell in the mill room, the furniture was rickety, and the barbecue barely stayed upright. In short, it was lucky the weather was nice and we could be outside. The owner was very aggressive.

Excellent family weekend at the Fontvieille farm! Lionel and Julie gave us a very warm welcome. The gîte is well-suited for a family of about fifteen people, with different living spaces and the option to enjoy the outdoors as well. Shops are 10 minutes away, and there are walks starting right from the gîte. Perfect for a stay with family or friends.
