I Grilli

About
Between wild Tuscany and the Tyrrhenian Sea, Piombino sits on a peninsula facing the island of Elba, where the Maremman hills slope gently down to turquoise waters. It is in this corner of Italy that crowds so often overlook — and that is precisely its charm — that I Grilli nestles, a cottage with an evocative name: the crickets, those musicians of the Tuscan summer who sing until dawn in the wild grasses.
Through the gate, the garden asserts itself as the true heart of the property. Generous, tended with a care that commands respect, it shelters an outdoor kitchen where evenings naturally take on a festive air. One can picture the aperitivos in the shade of the trees, the long, leisurely dinners where pecorino sits alongside a chilled Morellino di Scansano, children running about while the adults linger. Guests who have stayed here speak of a place made "with so much passion" — and you can feel it in every detail.
The cottage itself is clean, tastefully decorated, and well maintained. It offers a comfortable setting for a group looking to reconnect without giving up authentic Tuscan character. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi provide modern comfort, while a fully equipped kitchen allows guests to cook as they would at home rather than in a transient rental.
I Grilli's location makes it an ideal base for exploring the region by car. The Etruscan ruins of Populonia are just minutes away, the beaches of Baratti and their crystal-clear waters even closer. The ferry to the island of Elba departs from Piombino's port, and the medieval villages of the Maremma — Suvereto, Massa Marittima — reward those who seek them out along roads that wind through vineyards and cork oak forests.
What do guests take with them when they leave? A certain sense of the dolce vita, Maremman-style: the sound of crickets at sunset, the scent of scrubland drifting through open windows, and that gentle conviction that some places in the world were made for slowing down.

We had a great time at Villa Romantica at I Grilli - loved the outside Kitchen and also the whole garden. Everything is made with so much passion! Thanks again for your hospitality
A great place to relax in Tuscany! We had a fantastic time here. The cottage and garden are very pretty, clean, and well-maintained. The location is perfect – having a car, we had a good base from which to explore Tuscany's attractions, while also being close to the sea. A huge plus was the excellent, safe conditions for our dog, who could run freely. The owner and his father are incredibly friendly and helpful – they resolve any situation quickly and easily. We returned feeling very refreshed and we highly recommend this place to everyone, especially those traveling with pets!

A charming place! The well-kept garden surrounded by greenery...the house is a gem, the only flaw is the very poorly equipped kitchen.
