Casas rurales la Ribera Ordesa

About
At the foot of the Aragonese Pyrenees, where the Ordesa massif begins to reveal itself between gorges and Scots pine forests, the village of Escalona still keeps the secret of true Spanish countryside. Here, mornings smell of thyme and resin, afternoons belong to the river flowing just a few steps from the property, and nights are absolutely still, punctuated only by the song of crickets.
Casas rurales la Ribera Ordesa fits perfectly into this landscape of sovereign nature. This cottage welcomes families and groups of friends looking to unwind far from the well-trodden paths of mass tourism. The spacious, well-equipped kitchen makes it easy to organize real shared meals after a day in the neighboring national park — because here, you eat together, laugh together, and come back full of stories.
The bedrooms, generous in space, offer restorative rest, all the more so as air conditioning keeps the Aragonese heat comfortably at bay. The showers, enthusiastically praised in guest reviews (4.6/5 across 42 stays), make returning from hikes considerably more pleasant.
But it is outside where the magic truly happens. The large private courtyard opens directly onto the river, and the play area is a genuine paradise for children: a trampoline, slides, swings, a ping-pong table, and a foosball table keep even the most energetic ones busy for hours on end. Adults need only settle in to enjoy the view or plan the next outing. A path runs alongside the property down to the water — perfect for an impromptu swim or a picnic with your feet in the grass. The Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is just a short drive away for unforgettable hiking days.
What do groups take away with them, beyond the photos? The memory of a stay where time truly slowed down. Where children played until sunset and adults rediscovered the pleasure of having nothing scheduled. Escalona is not a place you visit — it is a place you live, and it leaves a lasting mark.

Awesome place to stay. There is a park where kids can play anytime. It includes a ping pong table, swings, slides, a football table and even a trampoline! There is a walkway nearby that leads to a river where you can swim and to the town where you can get fresh bread every morning :)
Very good place. We were family of 6. The kitchen was good, rooms are big. The kids had a big yard to play with nice view. The river is very close. Recommend.
