Casa Rural los Madroños

About
In the heart of rural Andalusia, where nature reclaims its full dominion and where the madroño trees lend their name to this beautiful property, Casa Rural los Madroños welcomes you with open arms. El Pedroso, an unspoiled village nestled within a verdant Andalusian landscape, makes for an ideal setting for those seeking to break free from the ordinary rhythm of life — it is here, in this peaceful and preserved corner of the world, that time finally finds a gentler pace.
This cottage boasts a swimming pool, a true asset during sun-drenched Andalusian days. Around it, daily life takes on a different character: a refreshing dip, a conversation that lingers in the shade, that delightful blend of leisure and good spirits that is the very essence of a group holiday. The unspoiled natural surroundings of the property make it an ideal retreat for family gatherings, reunions with friends, or those getaways that have been put off for far too long.
For your group, los Madroños can easily become the setting for long shared meals, evenings that stretch on beneath the Andalusian stars, and those simple yet precious moments that are still talked about years later. Country life, in its most genuine and rewarding form, asserts itself here quite naturally — and it is very hard not to fall under its quiet charm.
Rated 4/5 based on 40 Google reviews, the house has already won over many travelers in search of authenticity. I recommend this piece of paradise to anyone whom likes country life
A very unpleasant experience for several reasons: 1. The photos we saw on the website where we rented the house did not match the property. The photos showed many rooms and a large house, but those photos belong to two other houses they rent out. There are some photos that are of the house, but they are so close-up that they don't give a sense of how small it is. This house is very small with no bedrooms; it should be a house for two people, not eight. 2. Initially, we were eight people, and the owner told us there was no problem because there were plenty of beds. Luckily, in the end, there were only six of us, since he expected the other two to sleep in an abandoned, dirty, and dilapidated caravan he had parked in front of the house. 3. Although we were supposed to be able to sleep inside the house, we had to sleep on the floor, as there was only one double bed on the ground floor. The other mattresses were in a small, cramped attic accessible only by a ladder leading down from the ceiling. This ladder was half-broken and could have collapsed at any moment. 4. The towels were dirty and covered in hair. We had to use the towels we had brought for the pool. 5. The refrigerator smelled terrible. This gave the entire house a constant, unpleasant odor of vomit. In short, this house is in very poor condition. We've stayed in many rural accommodations, and this is the first time we've experienced anything like this. Not recommended at all.
Unpleasant experience, I don't know where to start: Upon arrival, we had to wait for the pool to be cleaned, which I expected to be ready for us to settle in. The second day, the pool was still dirty, and he had to return to clean it again. Wast nests everywhere, something he could have fumigated. The owner showed up unannounced during the stay. The pool showers were broken, and the mud pools were unavailable as they were completely abandoned and filthy. As if that weren't enough, he doesn't like animals, as he tried to kill the cats that came near the property.
We highly recommend it! The house is beautiful, uniquely decorated, and well-maintained. The drive up is a bit unusual, a bit of a goat track, but it's manageable in first gear. The house is in the countryside, with hiking trails nearby, and it has swimming pools and a barbecue area. Inside, there's a fully equipped kitchen, a full bathroom, a fireplace in the living room, and three double beds. The owner was very attentive and helpful. He's a very kind person, and we're very grateful!
A very pleasant stay, a week in August! It has a chicken coop, and the mud and clay are great for the skin (we've tested them!). It has its own small plot of land within the property and many fruit trees. The owner was very attentive and helpful; we will definitely be back!
