Casa Rural Finca Los Cerezos

About
At the heart of the Vera, that valley in Extremadura where cherry trees in bloom cover the sierra slopes with a snow-white mantle each spring, Finca Los Cerezos carries its name like a promise. The estate spreads at the gates of Jaraíz de la Vera, a village set between the Gredos mountains and the first warm gusts of the Meseta, in a region where oak-smoked pimentón is still grown and dried — that red spice that perfumes all of Extremaduran cuisine.
The finca opens onto views that travelers struggle to leave behind on the day of departure: valleys carved by the gargantas, those torrents that rush down the sierra, ridge lines burnished russet in summer, an immense sky. The house, spacious and carefully tended in its every detail, accommodates up to sixteen people with a comfort that its attentive hosts have designed for large groups — extended families, friends who see each other only once a year. The many bedrooms, fitted with particularly comfortable beds, offer each guest their own retreat after the long communal meals.
The kitchen is equal to collective appetites, the living room invites lingering evenings, and the outdoors — terraces, shaded spaces — effortlessly absorbs sixteen adults and children together. There is no private pool, but Jaraíz lake is ten minutes away by car: cool, natural waters, far preferable in summer when the heat of the Vera reaches its sovereign intensity.
The village itself is within walking distance, which, for a rural stay, changes everything: you can stroll down for bread, take a coffee under the arcade, walk back watching storks circle above the bell towers.
What groups bring back from Finca Los Cerezos is not an object but a texture: the thick silence of the afternoons, the scent of oak and paprika in the air, the orange light that falls on the sierra at dusk. A holiday that resembles what holidays should always be.

A spectacular property, very peaceful and very close to the village. The views are incredible. The house has everything you could need. The beds are very comfortable. The hosts are very attentive. 100% recommended.
A group of friends and I spent the long weekend there, and it was fantastic. There were 16 of us, adults and children, and we were very comfortable because the house is spacious and cozy. Everything was very clean and well-equipped. In winter, the fireplace must be wonderful for spending time with friends. The hostess was very friendly, explained everything very well, and made check-in and check-out very easy. The surrounding area is beautiful; we'll have to come back to explore more places.
Four families stayed over the August bank holiday weekend, and although the heat was intense and a swimming pool would have been nice, Lake Jaraíz is only a 10-minute drive away. It's very well maintained and an excellent place to spend the day swimming. The house also has air conditioning, which was a huge plus. The house is very spacious and welcoming, ideal for groups of 14 to 16 people. It was spotless when we arrived. The bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are spacious, and the beds are very comfortable. The main living room features a fireplace surrounded by comfortable sofas, and on the other side, a beautiful wood-fired oven... we would definitely love to return when the weather cools down. Puerto's hospitality was excellent: he was attentive to our needs at all times, and even left us some fresh eggs from the farm's hens!
We stayed with some friends over the August bank holiday weekend. It was spectacular! There were 16 of us in the house. We arrived on Friday and the owner, Puerto, was waiting for us there. She was lovely, waiting until everyone had arrived and we had filled out the check-in paperwork. She gave us detailed explanations about the house and what to do in the area. The living room is super spacious and cozy. The fireplace and wood-fired oven are highlights, which we didn't use for obvious reasons, but I would love to return at another time of year when it's not so hot. Thankfully, all the rooms had air conditioning, which we appreciated during a very hot weekend. It's ideal for going with children. The surroundings are amazing; I would have loved to see the house when the cherry trees were in bloom. There's a huge property where you can walk around and where the children can play safely. It has two beautiful portable tables that can be taken out onto the front porch. We had breakfast there both days in the back, overlooking the mountains and the fresh lawn after being watered by the automatic sprinkler system. Inside, there's a great sofa area and a large table with enough chairs for so many people. The kitchen is industrial-style, and with so many guests, the ample counter space is much appreciated. It has two refrigerators, a coffee maker, a portable gas grill, and a dishwasher. The bedrooms are very spacious, each with its own full bathroom. The beds, mattresses, and pillows are comfortable. In the living area, there's a separate section with spacious bathrooms, so you don't have to go upstairs to use the bathrooms in the bedrooms—a very welcome feature. The cleanliness was fantastic! You can tell when something is well-maintained and time is dedicated to something so important. As for the surrounding area, we spent the day at a couple of natural pools just a 10-minute drive away, and both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. 100% recommended. We'll definitely be back.
We left the house an hour ago, after arriving on Friday. It was spectacular! There were 10 adults, 3 children, and a baby in the house. We arrived on Friday, and the owner, Puerto, was waiting for us there. She was lovely; she waited until we all arrived and completed the check-in paperwork. She explained everything and showed us around the house. The living room is very spacious, ideal for being with children if the weather isn't great outside. It has several sofas and armchairs and a huge table for everyone to sit at. The kitchen is very well-equipped, with plenty of utensils, two refrigerators, a coffee maker, a portable gas grill, and a dishwasher. The bedrooms are very large, each with its own full bathroom. The mattresses and pillows are very comfortable (something very important to me). We occupied 6 of the 7 bedrooms; the other one was closed, of course. There are very spacious bathrooms in the living room so we didn't have to go up to the bedrooms. The setting is wonderful. A huge property perfect for strolling and sunbathing. Children can play safely. It also has portable tables for outdoor dining and plenty of chairs, in addition to the table on the porch. The cleanliness was fantastic! You can tell when something is well-maintained and time is dedicated to something so important. The bathrooms smelled wonderful. 100% recommended! We will definitely be back very soon. I've added photos of some parts of the house.
