Allotjaments Masia Esplanes | LO MAS
About
At the heart of the Priorat, in Falset, Masia Esplanes offers two independent houses — including Caseta Vella — available to rent together so a group can have the entire property to themselves. The rooms spread across both buildings comfortably accommodate a medium-sized group while preserving everyone's personal space: each subgroup has its own roof, while remaining just steps away for shared moments.
The rural setting of a Catalan masia naturally suits family weekends, birthday gatherings with friends, seminars looking to break free from meeting rooms, or team retreats. A low-key, intimate wedding also finds its place here: no close neighbors, nothing but countryside on the horizon, vineyards and olive groves framing the estate.
When it comes to communal life, the outdoor spaces play a key role — terraces and gardens provide room to gather in the evening, have lunch in the shade, or simply do nothing together without getting in each other's way. Each house has its own fully equipped kitchen, allowing groups to be self-sufficient and avoid the constraints of eating out at every meal — a real advantage when there are many of you over several days.
Francesco, the owner who is present on site, is mentioned in several reviews for his attentive hospitality: he takes the time on arrival to guide groups on what to visit, where to go, and what the area has to offer. The Priorat is just a short drive away — some of Catalonia's finest wine appellations are less than thirty minutes from the door — and the hinterland offers landscapes varied enough to fill each day differently.
A functional and well-kept base, for groups who want to be together without being on top of one another.

There are 2 houses for rent, we've had the smaller one and were alone during the stay. Francesco was very welcoming, took the time to explain what we could visit in the region. The place is very calm, in the middle of the vines and has got everything you need.

We stayed at Caseta Vella and felt incredibly comfortable. The man who looked after us (I don't remember his name, sorry) was super friendly, explained everything perfectly, and recommended places to visit in the area. He even brought us a coca de recapte (a type of flatbread) made by his wife, which was absolutely delicious! The place is very peaceful, with a charming little porch at the entrance. The other large house is next door, but they don't share any spaces, except for the pool. The pool is a natural basin adapted for swimming, surrounded by vineyards—very rustic and charming. The only downside we could mention was that there were quite a few ants in the kitchen and dining area, so you had to be careful about leaving food out, but personally, we didn't mind too much since it was summer... We left very happy and added it to our favorites because we plan to return.

The armchairs are uncomfortable and don't invite you to relax. The electric water heater has a very small capacity for the house. As for the pellet stove, it creates a nice ambiance, but you're not allowed to adjust the temperature, and the room cools down quite quickly. More warmth would have been appreciated. There's no wardrobe or hangers in the room. The coffee maker is broken and doesn't brew coffee properly. You have to use at least three cups to make a small coffee.

Francesc welcomed me, a humble, empathetic, very pleasant, professional and attentive person, a very pleasant, quiet and comfortable place with a spectacular environment for its views. Do not hesitate to come here alone or with family, you will not regret it and maybe a 4-legged little one will also come to greet you🐱😅🙏🥰
