The view of the lake was beautiful! Our room was very fresh and lovely. Airconditioning made it easy to cool down in the hot mountain air. The Culurgiones pasta was the best we had on the island! Easy to eat a more vegetarian based diet here if you like. You can also drink the tap water. The ingredients are mostly local. The decor as well is mostly locally made when possible. The animals are not close. They said about 30 minutes walk down if we would have wanted to see them. A small tip: bring your own little fan as the mountain air can be hotter than breezy coastal air 🪭 Us Finns had to adjust a bit.

After arriving at Agroturismo Canales, we were truly impressed by the natural surroundings, the breathtaking views, and the overall location of this beautiful property. The cottages are perfectly integrated into the landscape, tastefully decorated, and it is evident that great care and attention have been invested in their design. We genuinely enjoyed our accommodation, and staying in such an environment was a wonderful experience. However, we would like to mention a few points that, in our opinion, could significantly improve the overall guest experience. During our stay, we had dinner at another family-run agritourism nearby and were impressed not only by the quality of the food but also by the way it was presented. The staff were cheerful, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about explaining the dishes, serving the various courses, and creating a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. Their hospitality made the evening truly memorable. Unfortunately, our experience at Canales was quite different. Apart from one very young staff member who was exceptionally kind, friendly, and cheerful, the rest of the staff during both breakfast and dinner appeared rather uninterested and somewhat distant. There was a lack of warmth, communication, and the sense of hospitality that such a beautiful setting deserves. We were particularly disappointed that nobody informed us during breakfast that the traditional roasted suckling pig, one of the region’s most famous specialties, needed to be ordered in advance for dinner. Had we known, we would certainly have ordered it. Important information such as this should be clearly communicated to guests so they do not miss the opportunity to enjoy an authentic local culinary experience. Breakfast was adequate and nothing was missing, but it was not particularly memorable. More than the food itself, what was lacking was communication and a genuine willingness to introduce guests to the available options, recommend local specialties, or simply show a greater interest in making their stay special. As a result, we were left with the impression that the outstanding natural surroundings, excellent location, and beautifully designed accommodations deserve a significantly higher level of dining experience and hospitality. The food is acceptable but rather basic, while the quality of service does not match the standard set by the accommodation and the remarkable atmosphere of the property. We believe that with a little more attention to guests, warmer interactions, and some improvements to the dining experience, Agroturismo Canales could leave an even stronger impression and achieve an even higher rating, with many more truly delighted guests. Next day After our previous review, we would like to add a few more words. This morning at breakfast, we noticed a significant change in the attitude of the staff. The team at Agriturismo Canales was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive to all guests. When we were settling our bill before departure, the owner told us that she had read our review and accepted our comments, acknowledging that there is always room for improvement. We were genuinely impressed by this reaction. Our intention was never to criticize for the sake of criticism, but simply to point out a few details that we believed could be improved, because this agriturismo truly has all the qualities needed to be among the very best in the region. What we appreciated most was that our comments were not taken personally, but were understood as constructive feedback offered in good faith. As a thoughtful gesture, they even gave us a bottle of wine for our journey, for which we are sincerely grateful. We believe that this open-minded and professional attitude will help them address the small shortcomings we mentioned and allow Agriturismo Canales to fully live up to its potential once again. Its beautiful location, stunning natural surroundings, and wonderful hosts deserve nothing less. We wish them every success and many happy guests in the future.

This family run gem could not have been a more perfect stop for my husband and I. We stayed two nights and could have easily stayed longer. Our apartment was spacious and comfortable and we were grateful to do some laundry in our own space! Originally we planned to do our full day as a boat day on the Gulfo di Orosei but overcast / rainy weather meant that was cancelled. I was a bit disappointed but when we pulled up to Agritourismo Canales I knew it was the universe telling us we were meant to rest and explore this region instead. While the coast is an easy and GORGEOUS 25 minute drive, you feel like you’re in another world. The surroundings are stunning and peaceful. We ate breakfast twice and dinner once in the dining room overlooking the river and didn’t have a single bite that was less than delightful. The staff were also so lovely and helpful. We would love to stay at Agritourismo Canales again in the future.
