CasaGiga 95 (Civitella in Val di Chiana)

Perfect spot to discover the authentic Tuscan rural life and to recharge your batteries. We (2 adults and 2 teens) stayed at Poggilunghi in April for a week (apartment 1&2). The weather conditions were perfect (not too cold, not too warm), but don't expect the swimming pool to be open at this time of the year. But don't worry, there are plenty of other activities you can do in the area. Walking around in nature or in remote and/or charming towns, cycling, visiting a spa or adventure park (only in the weekend) in Rapolano Terme, wine tasting or just enjoy Simon's beautiful (olive) garden (what a views). Its central location allows you also to do a daytrip to Sienna, Florence or even Pisa and Rome. The apartment had everything we needed. Simon welcomes you in a casual and warm way and is available at all times. We will certainly return to Poggilunghi when we are in the area.

The apartment and house are fantastic and the pool is a real bonus in a lovely setting. The vineyards, olive trees and woods also add to the whole experience. Simon is a fantastic host and provided great information about dining out, day trips and even discount shopping outlets. We really enjoyed our stay particularly early evening drinks in the bar where we met some other really interesting guests.

Not so clean. Had lots of spider cob webs in the room and the kitchen's windows. The drain in the shower also wasn't clean and partly blocked. Heating didn't work and it was a bit cold. We told Simon and he did something - it worked for 10 min. Yes beautiful in photos but very basic. No coffee, no soap, no shampoo, no sugar or salt, I think it's super basic to have cheap soap at least. Yes it looks like there is a nice bar but it was closed all the time and apparently might be open but with a request. I would not feel comfortable to message my host every time we just want a cup of tea/coffee. I've been an airbnb operation manager for a company with 40 properties under my supervision and I would say this place doesn't get the right attention and awareness to treat tourists.

Simon run this plays last few years. It is authentic Agroturismo with a newly built new swimming pool and area around it. He is such a good host so you will feel like you are at home. Accommodate in the Arezzo region and in the middle of Tuscany so you can visit cities with easy. Would come back here for a years !!!

I had the pleasure to stay for 4 nights at Poggilunghi this past December 2021. Mr. Simon, the host, is a very interesting guy, we had great conversations, and he was very nice and helpful. My one bedroom suite was warm (not always the case in Italy this time of the year), super clean and very cozy. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The house is restored to perfection with all the classic Tuscan country house architectural details. Also the resort had the fastest internet connection I have ever experienced in a country house in Italy (100MBPS) and I was able to connect to my office in NYC and do my work without any troubles. Satellite TV with many channels also was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a place to work remotely in the winter and/or to anybody going to visit Tuscany. The location is very good as well and there are a million day trip just within 1hr such as Montalcino, Pienza, Cortona, Montepulciano, Val d'Orcia, Siena, Florence and many more incredible places. I will stay again next summer with my family in the 3 bedroom apt Simon shewed me, with and amazing outdoor patio just in front of the pool. I couldn't be more pleased with my stay.
