Gite de Chalmazel village

Chalmazel is a mountain village in the Forez massif, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, perched at around 900 metres above sea level, a few minutes' walk from the ski lifts of the local ski resort. This gîte can accommodate up to 31 people across 11 rooms, making it a suitably sized option for large groups: seminars, extended family gatherings, school trips, or sports clubs.

The fireplace is the heart of the communal living areas — it brings the group together around the fire in the evenings after a day of activities at altitude. A washing machine is available on site, which eases the logistics of multi-day stays.

The village of Chalmazel gives direct access to a network of waymarked hiking trails in summer, and to downhill and cross-country ski runs in winter. The Forez massif surrounds the village with conifer forests and high-altitude pastures. The neighbouring summits exceed 1,600 metres and offer unobstructed views over the Forez plain; on a clear day, the Alps are visible on the horizon.

The 11 rooms allow the sleeping arrangements to be tailored to the group's specific needs, whether that means double rooms, shared rooms, or rooms set aside for group leaders. With 31 beds, the gîte is among the highest-capacity group accommodation options in the village, avoiding the need to split a large group across several different addresses.
