El Loboratorio

About
Nestled in the hamlet of Casas del Abad, in the heart of Castile and León, El Loboratorio is a contemporary rural cottage that blends modern comfort with authentic village character. The Sierra de Grezma provides the backdrop — its peaks sometimes hold their snow through August — which partly explains the air quality that guests consistently mention in their reviews.
The property comfortably accommodates up to [X] guests and lends itself to several types of group stays: a weekend with the extended family, a birthday celebration with friends, an off-grid team retreat, or an intimate countryside wedding. The bedrooms are well distributed throughout the property, and the shared spaces — living room, fully equipped kitchen, terrace opening onto the mountains — give the group room to gather without feeling crowded.
The interior is updated and functional. Everything you need is there: a kitchen set up to cook for a crowd, spaces to come together in the evening, a clean and well-maintained setup. Nothing unnecessary, but nothing missing either.
The hamlet is genuinely quiet — not the relative quiet of semi-rural areas, but the kind found in a village where silence truly settles in. The surrounding area is well suited to walks in nature and sweeping views of the sierra. The property is pet-friendly, a real practical advantage for groups traveling with dogs.
Rated 4.8/5 across more than 100 Google reviews, El Loboratorio frequently comes up in comments as a place people want to return to. That's no coincidence: the consistency between the setting, the comfort, and Javier's hospitality creates an experience that's hard to replicate elsewhere.

The house of Javier, is located in a tiny little rural hamlet with beautiful views of the Sierra de Grezma, there was still snow on the mountains in August, that might explain the great clean air, and cristal clear drinkable water in the local village fountain. The house is how it shows on the pictures, new is married with old, all done with good taste and respect for materials. We were there with 5 two adults, one teenager and two doggies. Javier is very thoughtful towards dogowners and dogs, we got some great dogtreats as a hospitality gesture which the dogs really liked. The sofa coach is comfortable. We were surprised to have to walk around the block to get to the garden, but after the first surprise it wasn't a problem the garden is very nice, great place to chill, nice and quiet, only the buzzing of nature around. We bbqt twice in the garden, even staying after dark, with a flash light, there is no light nor water in the garden but it's worth it to drag the things there its really great. There where raspberries growing in the garden which we used to make a brownie ;) the rest of the house you can imagine from the description how it will be. There is a lot of heart, respect and vision that went in to this his. I definitely want to return, maybe for a romantic getaway with my love, or with the whole family again. I totally recommend this place as a rental and a great experience!!
My boyfriend and I went with our dog and we absolutely loved it. We want to go back, I highly recommend it. If the photos already convince you, when you go you'll fall in love with the place ♥️♥️♥️ The owner has taken care of every detail. I would add, to make things easier for everyone, some instructions for using the projector, speaker, and TV. We eventually figured out how to connect everything, but it took us a little while, but that doesn't detract from the 5 stars it deserves.
We absolutely love this place. It's a fantastic house, with everything you could need, and it's all very modern and perfectly suited to our current needs, yet in a rural setting. The village is very peaceful and welcoming. The host is fantastic; we've been twice now and we know for sure we'll keep coming back whenever we can. It's a real treat.
I went hiking in the mountains with my daughter, and after miles of hiking, arriving at the laboratory and watching a movie after relaxing in the jacuzzi was a real treat. Javier was very attentive and available. The area is very peaceful, and if you're lucky enough to experience a summer storm, it's incredibly refreshing.
It's a lovely and cozy house. However, it doesn't have enough chairs for four people to sit and eat together. The patio isn't suitable for relaxing or dining; the patio furniture is old and dirty. And one of the bicycles doesn't work because of the wheels. Otherwise, the house and the surroundings are very nice. And the jacuzzi is a fantastic feature.
