About

El Corral de Avelina is a farmstay located in Valjunquera, a village in the Matarraña comarca of Aragon, around forty kilometres from Alcañiz. The property caters to groups or families: several reviews mention stays of six or more people gathered under one roof. The rooms are spacious; one of them has an en-suite bathroom. The house is fully equipped with kitchen utensils and crockery, allowing guests to stay completely self-sufficiently without bringing any equipment of their own. A terrace with a fitted bar area serves as the main outdoor space. A patio completes the communal areas. The façade respects the traditional aesthetic of the village, with the stone materials and volumes typical of local Aragonese architecture, while the interior has been renovated with all modern comforts. Upkeep is meticulous: cleanliness and the overall good condition of the property are unanimously noted by visitors in their reviews. All 26 Google reviews give the maximum rating, resulting in a perfect average of 5/5. The Matarraña is one of the best-preserved rural areas of Aragon: centuries-old olive groves, ochre stone villages and limestone gorges make up the immediate landscape. Valjunquera is around ten kilometres from Calaceite, whose stone medieval centre ranks among the finest in the region. The area offers waymarked hiking trails, Iberian rock art sites and medieval architectural heritage accessible in under twenty minutes by road.

A group of six friends and I just enjoyed a stay at this country house. The house was spectacular: spacious, very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. It lacked nothing and was very welcoming. The owner was very friendly and attentive, providing information about the area so we could enjoy the surroundings. We highly recommend it!

The house is beautiful, with all the utensils and kitchenware you could possibly need. The very spacious bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom, are perfect for relaxing. There's a terrace with a barbecue, sun loungers, tables, and chairs to enjoy your stay. We were three couples with children and thoroughly enjoyed the entire weekend (there are toys in the attic for the little ones too). Everything was perfect, down to the last detail, and very clean. Maite was always available. Thank you so much for everything! Highly recommended.

We spent five days at Corral de Avelina as a group of six friends. The house is spectacular, very well-maintained and clean, and has every detail, as it is very well-equipped. You can enjoy the cozy terrace with a barbecue, sun loungers for sunbathing, and dinner by moonlight. Maite, the owner of the house, is very attentive and friendly. She provided us with information and points of interest in the area for all kinds of activities. I highly recommend it.
