Casas Rurales Molino La Catedral

About
At the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema, within one of Andalusia's best-preserved natural parks, Molino La Catedral lives up to its name: a former mill standing before limestone walls that rise like cathedrals above the valley. Here, the white village of Grazalema — renowned as one of the rainiest in Spain, which explains the exceptional lushness of its vegetation — seems to watch from afar over this discreet refuge set along the riverbank.
The cottage sits directly on the bank of the Río Gaduares, along the Gaidovar trail. From the moment you arrive, the murmur of the water asserts itself: constant, gentle, almost hypnotic. It sets the rhythm of mornings on the terrace and nights under the stars. The house welcomes a family-sized group in spaces designed for living together — a fully equipped kitchen for preparing local recipes, a shared living room for long evenings, comfortable bedrooms to recover from hikes through the sierra. Everything you need is here, without pretension, with that warmly understated quality found in well-kept Andalusian rural homes.
The surroundings reward the active and the contemplative alike. The Gaidovar trail begins virtually at the doorstep, winding through cork oaks, griffon vultures, and dizzying rock formations. Grazalema, just minutes away, offers its cobbled lanes, game tapas, and aged sheep's cheese — a direct introduction to the gastronomy of the Serranía. For those who enjoy swimming, the region's natural springs serve as wild pools during the warmer months.
What guests take with them when they leave is less a precise image than a feeling: that of having lived to the rhythm of water and mountain, in a place where nature reclaims its rights without any loss of comfort. The memory of a misty morning on the riverbank, of a meal improvised from whatever the Grazalema market had to offer, and of inhabited silence — that full, resonant silence that only the Andalusian countryside knows how to produce.

You'll find few places to relax in the Sierra de Grazalema like this one. Located on the Gaidovar trail, listening to the gentle flow of the water, surrounded by mountains and nature, it's a truly special place. I've also been able to enjoy the fireplace and the pool with its clean, crystal-clear water in both summer and winter. Without a doubt, I recommend this rural house for its comfort, service, design, and what can I say about Tomás, the owner, who is incredibly helpful. We'll be back!

We spent a weekend there with some friends and our children's art class. Both the house and its location are beautiful and welcoming. The surrounding Sierra de Grazalema mountains are stunning. The house is well-equipped, and the owner is attentive and friendly. If we have the chance, we'll definitely return. Highly recommended.

Little to add, when we arrived the house was already occupied and we called the owner and he said the reservation had been duplicated, 20 people with children at the door waiting for a solution, the response was that it had been duplicated and that we couldn't enter, out of shame.
