1861 Châtel Hostel

Nestled in the heart of Châtel, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Alps in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the 1861 Châtel Hostel is a cottage that breathes authentic mountain character. From the moment you step through the door, the warmth of a crackling fireplace welcomes you and sets the tone for a stay where collective well-being is at the heart of everything.

Designed to accommodate up to 30 people, this cottage features 18 rooms — an ideal layout for every guest to enjoy their own personal space while sharing unforgettable moments together. Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected when needed, while the dishwasher and washing machine simplify daily life during longer stays — those small comforts that make all the difference when you're in a large group.

For those who love good company, the barbecue invites outdoor meals and lively evenings under the Alpine stars. The games available on-site ensure that rainy afternoons turn into moments of shared laughter rather than idle time. And when the urge to truly unwind takes hold, the sauna offers a well-deserved retreat after a day in the mountains.

The 1861 Châtel Hostel lends itself perfectly to large family reunions, weekends with friends, team retreats in search of an inspiring setting, or celebrations that deserve a backdrop worthy of the memories you're about to create. Picture generous gatherings around the fireplace, leisurely mornings in the sauna, long evenings around the barbecue — every corner of this cottage is designed so that 30 people feel at home, together.

Because the most beautiful moments are meant to be shared, the 1861 Châtel Hostel is waiting to help you write your next great collective story.
