Agriturismo San Sano

Picking somewhere to stay in Tuscany can be difficult. The choice is huge but there are 'a few' that outshine others. Agriturismo San Sano is one of the few. It is a wonderful location from which to discover Tuscany, it's scenery, food, wine, customs and it's culture. It is a beautiful place to stay. The moment I booked my stay the sense of 'belonging' started. The exceptional customer service from Matteo who, with his partner Lorena, manage the venue made my stay amazing. During my time with them they were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are great, just what I needed at the end of my trip from Milan to Lecce and back again. Clean, well presented, air conditioned and quiet, quiet enough to hear the birds' sing, morning and evening. Sunrises and Sunsets are perfectly beautiful Breakfast was plentiful and of high quality and there is food available at lunch and dinner time. San Sano has an added advantage of having a family run restaurant serving local specialities within 150 metres walk. The pool was well maintains, relaxing and very close by. Finding great food, wine and Italian 'Craft beers' is not difficult but it helps to have them on your doorstep. San Sano run their own wine tasting tours around their vineyards and estate and I'd certainly recommend a tour and a tasting session. There is no pressure to buy, just a natural desire for you to enjoy the wine with some local cheese and cured meats. Sofia, is an amazing tasting guide, she will help you distinguish between all the different grapes and styles of wine. The song lyrics about “leaving your heart in San Francisco” may be true for some, but the ….“golden-sun shines” over the beautiful countryside of Tuscany and the city of Siena as well ………….and I know that I left my heart in San Sano. When I come back to Italy, this is where I'll stay. Thank you.

My wife and I had a great three day stay here. The accommodation was charming with a history, and has a pool and garden to relax by, along with adjacent vineyards that provide a quaint escape. We did the vineyard tour and wine tasting which was a great experience. We enjoyed the breakfast offering in the mornings, and the staff were delightful. Shout out to Lorena and Matteo, who greeted us with warm smiles and great conversation each day. We hope to come back one day!

We had a memorable time here at the Agriturismo San Sano! The staff was extremely friendly - and helpful! Everyday was a pleasure at mealtime talking with all of them! Andrea & Alberto were as welcoming and gracious as always. And a special thanks goes out to Matteo and Lorena - who added to our positive experience there! We will be back!
