Situadas a las puertas de la Selva de Irati, uno de los hayedo-abetales más grandes de Europa, las Casas Rurales Txikirrin ofrecen varias casitas rurales ideales para grupos que desean reencontrarse en el corazón de la Navarra española. El conjunto permite alojar cómodamente a un grupo distribuyendo las plazas entre las distintas unidades, cada una organizada en dos plantas: planta baja con cocina equipada y salón-comedor, y piso superior con las habitaciones.
El punto fuerte para la vida en grupo es la terraza compartida orientada al jardín, con mesa y sillas, que se convierte naturalmente en el lugar de encuentro para las comidas al aire libre, los aperitivos de la tarde o simplemente los momentos de descanso entre dos excursiones. Este espacio exterior común compensa el tamaño modesto de cada casita y da amplitud al conjunto.
El lugar se presta especialmente bien a los fines de semana de naturaleza en familia, las escapadas entre amigos centradas en el senderismo o el ciclismo, y los pequeños seminarios informales que buscan una ruptura real con el día a día urbano. El bosque de Irati es accesible directamente desde el pueblo de Villanueva de Aezkoa, lo que evita los desplazamientos en coche para llegar a los senderos. Los propietarios son descritos como reactivos y disponibles, un aspecto nada desdeñable cuando se gestiona la logística de un grupo.
Txikirrin también es dog-friendly, lo que elimina la restricción habitual para los grupos que viajan con perros. En cuanto a los equipamientos, lo esencial está presente sin florituras: todo lo necesario para cocinar, dormir y descansar varios días.

Small house with everything you need. The second floor is larger than the first, but less bright. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable. The bathroom was very warm, while we were cold in the other rooms. Cleanliness left much to be desired; the floor was dirty and covered in pet hair. The dishes and cutlery were sticky. The house shares a patio and barbecue area. Parking near the house is easy, but be careful not to park on the neighbor's sidewalk, as they will make you move your car!

Spacious apartment for two people. It has a shared porch with a small garden, table, and chairs. Inside, the ground floor comprises the kitchen and living/dining room. Upstairs, a staircase leads to the first floor, which features a very large bedroom and a bathroom. Also on this floor is a balcony with a small table and two chairs, perfect for relaxing. Hiriberri is easily accessible after a 2-3 km drive along a narrow road and is close to Aribe, where there is a gas station and a small supermarket. Highly recommended.

Fantastic house, a 10 out of 10! And it's dog-friendly! With everything you need for a few days' holiday, the owner was super friendly and attentive at all times. The village is well located, with the Irati Forest (from Orbaizeta) about 25 minutes away and Ochagavía about 40 minutes away, from where you take the other road to the Irati Forest. (Another 40 minutes or so to Casas de Irati).

We were a group of 11 (adults and children) staying in Txiquirrrin III, which is on the second floor of the building. It shares common areas with the other accommodation (a barbecue and tables with chairs in the interior patio). It's a very well-equipped house (heating, kitchenware) with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and one bedroom with an ensuite bathroom on the first floor. There's also an attic where the children had a great time. You can hear a bit of noise from the house below; thank goodness the people were polite, and it only took 15 minutes of commotion. The style is rustic and mountainous, and we were very comfortable. It's very well located for visiting the Irati Forest. The town is very small, with no supermarket, but there's a Carrefour Express in Aribe, 7/8 minutes away. Edurne, the owner, was always available for anything we asked for.

A group of 10 friends and I went, and it was a great experience. The house was very comfortable, with a cozy upstairs living room. The surrounding area is spectacular, with beautiful villages. The roads are winding but very well signposted. I highly recommend this accommodation.
