En el corazón de la Sierra de Segura, allí donde los ríos nacen entre rocas calizas y bosques de pinos centenarios, Pontones es uno de esos pueblos andaluces que el tiempo parece haber perdonado. Ni agitación, ni ruido de fondo urbano — solo el canto del agua, el viento en las copas de los árboles y, al caer la noche, un cielo estrellado de una densidad poco común. Es en este escenario donde se arraigan las Casas Rurales El Nacimiento, cottages de piedra que abrazan el paisaje como si siempre hubieran formado parte de él.
Desde la llegada, algo se asienta. Los propios viajeros lo dicen: *"From the moment I arrived, I felt a special peace"*. No es una promesa de marketing — es lo que ofrece el lugar, de manera natural, incluso antes de deshacer las maletas. Los cottages son cálidos y confortables, pensados para que uno se sienta como en casa: interiores cuidados, ropa de cama suave, espacios adaptados tanto a parejas como a pequeños grupos de amigos que vienen a recuperar fuerzas juntos. Las configuraciones permiten acoger diferentes tamaños de estancia, desde el dúo que busca la intimidad hasta la pandilla de amigos que regresa cada año — y regresan, efectivamente: *"We'll definitely be back"*.
En el exterior, el parque natural de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas abre sus senderos sobre kilómetros de naturaleza preservada. Senderismo, baños en los manantiales, observación de la fauna salvaje — el ciervo, el buitre leonado, la nutria — o simplemente sentarse a orillas de un torrente y no hacer nada más que mirar correr el agua. La región produce también un aceite de oliva entre los más reputados de España; una visita a las cooperativas locales resulta imprescindible.
Lo que los huéspedes se llevan al partir no cabe en el equipaje. Es más bien una cierta manera de respirar recuperada, la memoria de un silencio habitado, y esa convicción tranquila, resumida por quienes estaban allí por primera vez: *"We're sure it won't be our last."*

My stay was a beautiful and very relaxing experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt a special peace thanks to the natural surroundings and the tranquil atmosphere. The cottages are cozy, comfortable, and have that rustic style that invites you to disconnect from the daily grind. The service was very personal and friendly, as if I were being welcomed into their own home. It's an ideal destination to relax, enjoy the scenery, and recharge. Without a doubt, I would return without hesitation.
The house is beautiful, the surroundings incredible. A group of friends and I stayed at "El Nacimiento" and it was fantastic. We'll definitely be back!
This is our first time here, but we're sure it won't be our last. The location is ideal, not only for its tranquility but also for its surroundings. The house we stayed in (ground floor, 2 people) was perfectly equipped and clean. Jesús was lovely; he gave us information on routes, restaurants... everything was explained to him! In this place, you're guaranteed a relaxing escape from nature. Thank you so much, Jesús! 🙂
We've been several times with a group of friends and will continue to return. The house is very well located, comfortable, clean, the surroundings are exceptional, and the owner is charming and very friendly. We'll be back!
This is our fourth time staying here, and we'll definitely be back. This time we went as a family (two adults and two children), and on other occasions with friends. We've stayed at La Tiná and El Nacimiento (the larger of the two). The location is unbeatable: a beautiful setting, right next to the river and very close to the spring. There are also many hiking trails nearby, and it's easy to spot wildlife at nightfall; we saw foxes, wild boars, and deer. The house is very well insulated and maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the day thanks to the central heating and the fireplace. The hot water flows strongly and is the perfect temperature for a relaxing shower. The cleanliness, as always, is impeccable. I must say that every time we go, we find something improved or updated. I don't know how old the houses are, but since our first visit five years ago, they always feel brand new. The mattresses are firm, and the bedding is perfectly suited to the season. Jesús, the owner, is always very helpful and attentive before, during, and after our stay. As a keen cook, I enjoy preparing meals while watching my children play happily. I can't wait to return. For me, these are the best rural houses I've ever stayed in: beautiful, well-equipped, and in a unique and peaceful setting.
