We did a last-minute getaway to Cortona & the hotel we'd originally booked was - surprise - closed, so I scrambled to find a place to stay. Agriturismo I Pagliali completely dazzled me & made me so glad our original accommodations didn't work out. This place is conveniently located an easy 5-minute drive from central Cortona & in a peaceful, spacious setting. Our "room" was massive-- with a dedicated bedroom plus a living room/kitchen combo & a separate bathroom. We enjoyed dinner at I Pagliali & it was a highlight of our stay. There was no menu but 4 courses were brought to us, including fresh cheeses & prosciutto, a potato souffle, a pork roast with potatoes & then a lovely dessert. I enjoyed a Prosecco to start & very nice red wine with dinner. Breakfast was also delicious & fresh. We enjoyed wandering around the grounds, the pool was closed because it was winter but it looked like a great spot to play & relax in warmer weather. The hospitality & service was among the best we've experienced in Italy. We hope to go back again & recommend this agriturismo to everyone travelling to or near Cortona.
Beautiful and charming location, immaculately kept; fantastic food; Vittorio and team are just fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough!
This place was absolutely beautiful! The entire family was super nice. I would recommend this place to anyone that visits Italy and is looking for a place that is not swamped with tourists.
