After delays at the airport in the UK we finally arrived at Manoir de l'Oseraie in the evening. When we saw the sign for the house and entered the driveway we were all speechless! The outside of the house was beautiful much bigger than we thought. There was a very large garden at the front with chairs and a parasol to sit outside. When we walked into the house we all squealed with delight, It was huge and so beautifully decorated with lovely furniture and a piano too. The bedrooms and bathrooms are amazing and all very individual. The kitchen was superb and very well equipped and a lovely long table which we sat around each night after cooking on the BBQ with food we bought from Mireille's (the owner) farm shop. At the back of the house was a lovely garden with covered decking area with comfy seating. We had a toddler with us and he was so excited as there was a play house and slide to amuse him as well as 3 sheep in the field adjoined the garden. There is a local shop across the road were we ordered fresh croissants and bread every day and had most things we needed. There is also a large supermarket not too far away. It was in a excellent location and visited all the Normandy landing beaches, Bayeaux and Honfleur. This is the best place I have ever stayed in and can highly recommend the property. Mireille was lovely and very helpful. Hopefully we will return soon.
This is an incredible property if you are intending to explore Normandie. We had four couples and 2 cars and were able to see everything during the 2 weeks we were there. We also played 8 rounds of golf. The chateau is wonderfully spacious with lots of elbow room. If you are visiting the Caen area of Normandie you surely want to check this place out. The owners are also very accommodating and are truly wonderful people. We had a great time there!
Good company, good food – and a stunning place to stay. We stayed at Manoir de l’Oseraie in early September, and were so impressed by its style: full of historical interest and impressively furnished in keeping, but with all the modern conveniences one might wish for. Spacious gardens (was that a medlar tree?) and plenty of outdoor games. We found it a good centre for exploring Normandy and visiting the sites of the D-Day landings.
