I've stayed at Casa Rural La Mallada several times, hosting retreats with corporate teams, programs with client groups, and even a romantic getaway, and I can say with absolute certainty that it's not just another rural guesthouse. It's a place that seems straight out of a fairytale. From the moment you arrive, you sense something different: magic, care, affection, and a profoundly sustained energy. Every corner is designed with intention, beauty, and functionality. The house is versatile, welcoming, and extremely well-equipped, capable of adapting to both deep work sessions and rest, connection, silence, and enjoyment. One of its greatest strengths is José Ángel, the host, musician, and true master of the space. His sensitivity, presence, and wisdom elevate the experience to another level. The sound activations, even in what could be described as a sound sauna, are unique experiences that transform the body, mind, and emotional state. It's not entertainment: it's a conscious and profound experience. Wonderful place, wonderful people. It makes you want to stay and live there; the house feels like home, the owners are lovely, the surrounding nature is spectacular, and the location is fantastic for exploring the area and not missing any of the richness of El Bierzo. I'll definitely be back.
We were a group of eight in September 2025, and we were thrilled. The house and its surroundings offer a journey into nature. El Bierzo is a treasure that must be cared for and preserved, and studied in schools because it provides us with the knowledge that makes us human. Truly, the splendid Casa del Bosque offers an unforgettable and highly recommended experience.
We stayed a couple of weekends ago, two couples and a half with children, and the truth is, the house is wonderful. There are plenty of bedrooms for everyone, the kitchen-living room is perfect, the pool is fantastic, the garden is beautiful, and we were thoroughly entertained by the frog. Everything was spotless, and both the mattresses and pillows were absolutely wonderful. 100% recommended.
