Questa provincia di Lugo, che i pellegrini del Camino attraversano senza sempre fermarsi, merita tuttavia che le si dedichi del tempo — molto tempo. La Casa do Neto lo invita senza mezzi termini.
Il nome dice già tutto: una casa di famiglia, tramandata, amata, curata con attenzione. Cottage di carattere dai muri in pietra a vista, accoglie i grandi gruppi con una generosità rara — i posti letto sono numerosi, le stanze luminose e confortevoli, e nessuno si sente mai a disagio. Chi l'ha scoperta non si sbaglia: *"Great house and huge!!"*, riassume uno di loro, con l'entusiasmo semplice di chi non ha nulla da aggiungere.
La vita qui si organizza tra gli ampi spazi interni — una cucina completamente attrezzata, propicia ai banchetti serali, grandi saloni dove il gruppo si ritrova naturalmente — e un esterno curato che cattura le ore dorate. La piscina chiama nel pomeriggio, la terrazza trattiene fino a sera, e nei giardini le conversazioni scorrono come il vino. In Galizia, il vino scorre bene. *"Genial. Relax total!"*: tre parole bastano, a volte.
La regione aggiunge la sua propria profondità. I mercati locali abbondano di prodotti che raccontano la terra: polpo alla feria, empanadas fumanti, formaggi stagionati nelle cantine dei dintorni. I villaggi di pietra dormono ancora sotto i loro hórreos, quei granai su palafitte diventati il simbolo della Galizia rurale. E a pochi chilometri, le mura romane di Lugo — iscritte al patrimonio mondiale dell'Unesco — ricordano che questa terra è antica e fiera di esserlo. Alcuni viaggiatori tornano a casa chiedendosi se sia la più bella dimora in cui abbiano mai vissuto. Non sono i primi a porsi la domanda.
Ciò che gli ospiti della Casa do Neto portano con sé è raramente ciò che immaginavano. Non solo fotografie o ricordi di mercato, ma qualcosa di più sfumato: l'impressione di aver davvero abitato un luogo, di esserci stati bene, insieme. Il migliore dei motivi per tornarci.

Best vila I have ever been
Great house and huge!!
Genial. Relax total!
An ideal place to disconnect from the daily grind and connect with friends. We were a group of 37 people, and we rented all three houses, including the shared areas. Everything was fantastic. Each house is different, but overall they're all nice and have spacious living rooms and kitchens for gathering. In addition to each house, the shared games room is wonderful. We had enough space to use it as a dining room for everyone. It has a fireplace, pool table, ping-pong, foosball, a projector screen, a speaker, and even an indoor barbecue that turned out great! The owner left us plenty of firewood for the whole weekend and offered us more if we needed it. The gardens are very well maintained and have three swimming pools with sun loungers. There's also an area for playing football and pétanque. The stay was fantastic! The owner also resolved any minor issues we had immediately, and booking is super easy and doesn't require a deposit. We were incredibly comfortable, and there are no noise rules, so we could play music and dance until whenever we wanted. It's true that some things aren't in perfect condition, like the broken tiles on the common room floor, and some bedrooms and bathrooms could use a little maintenance, but overall, these minor details more than made up for it. They also provide shampoo and shower gel packets, napkins, and extra toilet paper—a real treat! There's plenty of kitchenware in all the houses, and we use it in the common room, which also has a dishwasher. The fact that practically every bedroom has its own bathroom, even if it's small, is a plus that makes living together much easier. Plus, there are some beautiful viewpoints near the house overlooking the Ribeira Sacra and the Miño River. The town of Chantada, with supermarkets and a bakery, is also very close. If you only book one of the houses, I'd recommend Casa do Neto; it's the largest and offers the most privacy in the garden and pool area. In short, I highly recommend this place.
100% recommended accommodation. A group of friends with children stayed in the large house with a pool. Spacious, comfortable, and with everything we needed for a perfect weekend. The owner was incredibly helpful. We especially appreciated being able to stay until the afternoon on our departure day. Thank you so much for everything, we'll be back!
