Vi si parla il tedesco con inflessioni austriache, vi si mangiano gli Spätzle guardando le Alpi Retiche, e il tempo sembra obbedire ad altre regole. È in questo paesaggio preciso, sopra Merano e la Val Venosta, che si annida la Brünnls Försterhütte — l'antica capanna del guardaboschi, trasformata in rifugio di carattere per chi vuole vivere la montagna senza perdersi.
Lo chalet accoglie un piccolo gruppo in un'intimità curata. I posti letto sono comodi, i letti morbidi come testimoniano volentieri coloro che vi hanno dormito, e il resto è in linea: bagno piacevolmente arredato, cucina ben attrezzata con microonde multifunzione, tutto il necessario per cucinare o semplicemente riscaldare qualcosa prima di tornare ad affrontare il freddo della sera. Ciò che manca sulla carta — un forno tradizionale — svanisce rapidamente dalla mente di fronte alla vista che si apre dalla terrazza.
Perché è forse lì che si gioca l'essenziale. La vista dalla Brünnls Försterhütte è di quelle che lasciano senza parole al mattino. Le vette, gli alpeggi, la luce che cambia di ora in ora sulle creste — si capisce subito perché gli ospiti Andrea e Hans abbiano scelto questo posto per accogliere i loro viaggiatori. La loro ospitalità è d'altri tempi: a Pasqua, gli Hirtenspätzle — i maccheroni del pastore — per dare il benvenuto, attenzioni che non si improvvisano. Le 4,9 stelle su sette recensioni non devono nulla al caso.
Attorno allo chalet, Parcines si lascia esplorare a piedi, in bicicletta, o semplicemente da una panchina di legno. I sentieri salgono verso orizzonti aperti, il borgo vicino di Merano offre terme e mercati, e la Val Venosta distende i suoi paesaggi fino al confine svizzero.
Cosa portano con sé gli ospiti partendo dalla Brünnls Försterhütte? L'aria, prima di tutto. E la rara certezza di essere stati davvero accolti da qualche parte.

We were there at Easter 2022. The welcome from our hosts, Andrea and Hans, was overwhelming. We hadn't experienced anything like it in a long time. After a hearty portion of shepherd's noodles, we were shown the forester's cabin. Two lovely bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen-living room. Everything you could need. The breakfast basket we ordered was plentiful and delicious. Absolute peace and quiet, fantastic views in every direction, and a super cozy restaurant with excellent food right next door. The petting zoo, with goats, squirrels, birds, and much more, is also lovingly arranged. Ideal for children, but also for adults. This season, a hiking bus also runs directly from the restaurant to Partschins, which we used regularly (€3 per person + fare). So our car got a 14-day vacation. We've already booked for next year. 1.: Die Ferienhütte ist sehr gut eingerichtet: ankommen, und sich wohlfühlen. Sehr schönes Badezimmer, komfortable Betten, gute Ausstattung der Küche (es fehlt ein Backofen, dafür hat die Mikrowelle eine Grillfunktion), sogar die Dunstabzugshaube hat eine Komfortfunktion und schaltet sich bei Bedarf selbst an. Um mal schnell sauber zu machen, wäre ein Staubsauger komfortabel. Mit dem vorhanden Equipment geht es natürlich auch. Gaze an den Fenstern für den Sommer wäre eines der wenigen Optimierungspotentiale. Alles ist mit viel Liebe und gründlich gemacht: selbst die Gartentür hat Edelstahlscharniere! 2.: Die Lage ist einfach traumhaft. Ein toller Ausblick, Morgensonne uns ab Nachmittag Sonne. Im Sommer bleibt einem das Aufheizen des Hauses erspart. Sehr angenehm. Sonne, wenn man sie braucht. Die 4 Kilometer lange Serpentinenstraße zum Haus ist teilweise recht schmal, allerdings gibt es genug Ausweichmöglichkeiten, um den Gegenverkehr durchkommen zu lassen. Für uns war das weniger relevant: es gibt eine kostenlose Gästekarte, mit der man die Busse und die Bahn in Südtirol kostenfrei nutzen kann (teilweise sogar die Seilbahnen). Der Bus fährt 5 x am Tag direkt vom Haus los (und kommt natürlich auch 5 x wieder an ;-) ). Kurzum: wir haben unser Auto die ganze Woche nicht benutzt, waren aber in Meran, Mals, Partschins.... 3.: Die Anlage: mit Spielplatz und kleinem, liebevoll angelegtem Minizoo sehr schön für Kinder. Wen die freudige Akustik spielender Kinder stört: am Abend ist man alleiniger Gast in der Anlage. Ruhiger geht es nicht. 4.: Die Familie Steck ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir fühlten uns wie gute Nachbarn. Sehr sympathisch. 5.: Im Restaurant wird von Frau Steck hervorragend gekocht. Es gibt zusätzlich ein Tagesgericht (wenn man Glück hat, gibt es Lasagne mit Fleisch vom Almrind). Und -ich bin eigentlich kein Salatfan- sehr leckere Salate. Die Getränke sind gut temperiert. Tip: auf Wunsch backt Frau Steck morgens Baguettes, die dann Ofenwarm in einem schönen Beutel vor dem Haus stehen. Fazit: nur zu empfehlen. Wir haben für nächstes Jahr wieder gebucht.
