CasaGiga 497 (Provincia di Siena)

In 2023, I had a wonderful lunch and wine at Questa CasaGiga. Remembering the lovely time my husband and I had, when we decided to return to Italy this year with family, we told them we had to go back. Questa CasaGiga did not disappoint! The views are stunning, the wine is really good, and the food is worth the trek. Though we only did the wine tasting this time, I still found it to be wonderful! By far the best bang for my buck of all the wine tasting we’d done in Italy, we got to taste five delicious wines, enjoy plenty of bread and cheese, and go on a tour of the farm facilities to see where the magic happens. Please, please make a reservation! We saw several groups unfortunately turned away at the reception desk, as lunches, dinners, and most wine tastings were fully booked. This place is (rightfully) very popular, so don’t ruin your day by missing out by not booking in advanced. We shall certainly book another time at this lovely fattoria whenever we return to Italy!

Had lunch on the terrace overlooking San Gimignano. Wow! They served the best food we’ve had in Tuscany over the past week. Service is impeccable. Very family-friendly atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back. Maybe we’ll stay on the property next time we’re in Tuscany. Love this place!

Probably not a secret that all over Tuscany you get great food and wine. But this place was definitely the highlight during our week. We went here for the “light lunch” which actually turned out to be a full on 4 courses menu with Tuscan delicacies all homegrown and made. Paired with their amazing wines (also self-produced), and all this for just 37€ per person. On top a great service and comfy atmosphere. Definitely a must when you’re in the area.
