Al final de un camino que se adelgaza en el valle de Valnontey, allí donde el Parque Nacional del Gran Paradiso tiende sus últimas barreras antes de los glaciares, La Ferme du Grand Paradis surge como una imagen de otro tiempo. Las vacas pastan al ritmo lento de los altos pastos, las cimas nevadas se recortan al alcance de la mirada, y uno comprende de inmediato por qué los visitantes hablan de un lugar sacado de un cuento de hadas.
Este agroturismo valdostano, enclavado en Cogne en uno de los valles más preservados de los Alpes italianos, es mucho más que un alojamiento. Es una granja viva, llevada desde hace años por Max y Paola con una pasión que se siente desde los primeros instantes. Sus huéspedes lo dicen sin rodeos: aquí uno se siente como en casa. Quizás porque todo es auténtico — la cocina preparada con los productos de la tierra, la acogida cálida, los animales felices que pastan a pocos metros de las ventanas.
El chalet acoge a los grupos en un marco típicamente montañero, con espacios amplios pensados para compartir. Las habitaciones ofrecen el confort necesario tras largas jornadas de senderismo, y las comidas compartidas en torno a las especialidades valdostanas — queso fontina, sopa de pan y tocino, vino de la región — se convierten rápidamente en momentos esenciales de la estancia. La conexión Wi-Fi existe, pero se olvida rápidamente.
El entorno hace el resto: los senderos del Gran Paradiso se abren directamente desde la propiedad, con rutas para todos los niveles, íbices cruzados en el camino, y panoramas sobre los glaciares que cortan la respiración. En invierno, la nieve transforma el paisaje en un cuadro inmóvil. En verano, los prados en flor acogen a los fotógrafos y a los contemplativos.
¿Qué se llevan los grupos de La Ferme du Grand Paradis? Rara vez recuerdos de comodidad o equipamiento. Más bien esa sensación rara de haber desacelerado, de haber comido de verdad, de haber contemplado las montañas sin intentar fotografiarlas. Y las ganas irreprimibles de volver.

This magical farm is straight out of a fairytale. With sweeping glacier views and the happiest cows you’ve ever seen grazing on the grass in the valley, the place is truly incredible. We stayed for a night which included dinner and breakfast. The food was incredible and authentic, and the rooms are sweet, cozy, and welcoming- also, the beds are SO soft and warm. The people who own the farm and the people who work here are so kind and helpful, it’s hard not to want to stay here forever. The best part was at night when the cold rolls in, they light a fire that heats the entire building. The place smells of a wood burning stove and crisp fresh air. 11/10 highly recommend this place- especially if you have kiddos! Will definitely be returning as soon as I possibly can.
Breath-taking location, tasty cuisine, welcoming hosts. This agriturismo is the end of the road in Valnontey, in the Gran Paradiso National Park. There are some awesome views and walks to enjoy plus a heart warming, tasty and varied local cuisine is available for guests in the evening, with breakfast served including a nice capuccino and self serving savouries including local hams and cheeses and fresh cake. The family running the place are hard working, welcoming and friendly, and despite the damages suffered, housekeeping and maintenance were ongoing and the hosts manage to provide very adequate hospitality and appetizing meals, based on the local specialties, especially Fontina cheese. The restaurant service is delivered with passion. Despite the bad weather a couple of months before (in fact repair works were ongoing in the area, and despite the huge effort already made, including providing access over a temporary bridge), this farm manages to keep going reasonably well, and I believe they deserve every support. A quiet spot enjoyed by hikers, people walking and guests staying on the farm. Curious, friendly cows grazing peacefully, a chicken coop, rabbits and goats. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, although the apartment, like the public recreational areas would improve with some sprucing up. The double bed room on the other hand is faultless. Parking is available outside for free. Local traditional food items are available for sale. We do not regret staying there at all and wouldn’t mind returning, so we recommend. The whole area is a tourist hotspot during peak seasons and prices may not cheap.
It is impossible to describe the wonder and beauty of La Ferme. I am at home here and the passion and love the owners, Max and Paola, have for their guests and all they have created is deeply felt. This is one of those places you hesitate to write a review because you want to keep it a secret.💜 I would give it ten stars if I could.. for the accommodations, the food, the atmosphere, the mountains, and the family. I will be back again... and again.
Perfect spot with a stunning view. Hiking trails right around the corner. The breakfast was amazing, local cheeses all produced at the farm!
Fantastic farmhouse with family room. We enjoyed the food, great views and place great for hiking up to glaciers and refuge.
