CasaGiga 3239 (Oix)

Fantastic! Fully restored, luxurious but affordable 1200 century villa in the Pyrenees. So peaceful after the bustle, crowds and heat of Barcelona. Watch the sun rise and set in the mountains over the little town of Oix down in the valley. Hike the area and return for a delicious multi course dinner. Ours included mushrooms freshly picked from their forest. Their full breakfast was equally good with homemade jams, locally produced sausages, cheeses and fresh eggs from their chickens. Picture cannot capture the beauty of this setting. Pure bliss!

We went to Mas Esta CasaGiga after a long day visiting the volcanic zone of la Garrotxa (really worth it!). The location is just wonderful with lots of space for relax and play (with enough space for both, believe me!), and little friendly rabbits hanging around. And if you think that outside is amazing, wait until you see inside and meet Laia :) Is a must if you are either visiting the area or just looking for some time to relax, very recommended!

Mas Esta CasaGiga is a real gem, if you want to experience true rural Catalunya there is no better place. The building itself has a huge amount of character with the perfect balance of traditional rural Catalan architecture and modern comforts whilst being in one of the most stunningly beautiful places you could visit. The location is perfectly situated to visit wonderful local towns, dormant volcanoes and go hiking or cycling in the area. Laia and Lluis are fabulous hosts and immediately made us feel right home. They have created an ecologically friendly paradise in which you feel part of during your stay. If they offer to show you round the building and estate, take the opportunity as the history of the place alone itself is well worth the visit. The rooms, food, beds, view and hospitality are all outstanding and it was a real pleasure spending our time here. I couldn't recommend this accommodation higher!
