CasaGiga 2114 (Villentrois)

We rented the Gîte de This CasaGiga for six days during New Year's week 2025-26 for a family group of 14 adults and 5 children. There are some positive points to highlight, but also some negative ones that justify our rating. The gîte has a large capacity, numerous bedrooms, a large living room where we had a wonderful time, and a well-equipped kitchen. Furthermore, the region offers many opportunities for sightseeing. Given the season, we were unable to take advantage of the outdoor amenities. A few drawbacks should be noted, however, even if they didn't dampen our spirits: most of the bedrooms are located above the living room, and the uninsulated wooden floor (with visible holes) lets in all the noise. This was difficult for those who go to bed early or for children taking naps. There were also humidity problems that caused conjunctivitis in the younger children. And we learned the hard way that it's best not to use the gas stove when a giant flame nearly burned someone. We should also mention the chairs that collapsed, fortunately without causing any coccyx fractures or injuring the children... More serious was the last problem that occurred at the end of our stay. The night before our departure, a pellet stove exploded after restarting, and smoke filled the room. Luckily, some of us were still in the room and were able to turn off the stove, ventilate the room, and prevent the smoke from spreading upstairs. When we reported the incident on the morning of our departure, the owner's husband, who came to do the inventory check, listened attentively to our complaints and was quite gracious. The owner reacted much more aggressively by phone after we pointed out that the price was excessive given the state of the cottage, whose lack of maintenance is a real problem.

A very beautiful gîte, the grounds are lovely, well-equipped, the buildings are beautiful, a superb swimming pool (safe for children), outdoor games to enjoy the sun and nature, a very nice central room for dining and gathering together, the bedrooms are well-equipped and the spa bath is fantastic :-) Plenty of walking paths in the surrounding area :-)

A very nice, quiet cottage, though relatively expensive (thanks to Beauval Zoo).
