The cabin itself is a real gem: old, rustic, lots of wood, a cozy wood-burning stove, a modern bathroom, and an interesting history. The furnishings are basic, but everything you need is there. The lighting is somewhat impractical: lamps aren't centered over the table, especially in the kitchen, the light is too cold, the stove lamp is glaring, and the plastic cable channels on the old wood unfortunately detract a bit from the historic charm. It's manageable, but it should be improved. Regarding the landlady: During the rental period, she's very friendly; she even offered eggs and tea as a welcome gift, so it was quite pleasant. However, as soon as departure approaches, her tone changes. If you leave the apartment just 10 minutes after 10:00 a.m., even though she could have already entered, and if the dishwasher is still running because you just had breakfast, she becomes irritated. I don't quite understand this. She effectively didn't have to do anything to the apartment for two weeks, and the dishwasher runs for two hours—should you just leave the used dishes? I don't see the problem. ' ... The big BUT, and the main reason for the poor rating, is the noise. You imagine yourself at the end of the valley, slightly elevated with a great view, enjoying peace and nature: the murmur of the brook, cowbells, birdsong, a rooster crowing in the morning. Unfortunately, the reality is quite the opposite. Right next to the cabin, the residents themselves constantly create extremely loud noises: the hay drying machine drones 24/7, the meadow slopes are cleared with brush cutters and leaf blowers, even at midday and without any consideration for guests. Even when the leaf blowers are quiet, the motorcycles roar on the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road. It is simply disrespectful how these noisy machines are used, towards nature, the guests, and even the vacation rental itself. Instead of rural idyll, you experience a constant barrage of noise; relaxing on the terrace, reading a book, or sleeping with the window open is impossible. This incessant noise completely ruins the vacation experience. Yes, it's possible we were just "unlucky" with the noise and it's usually quieter, but what do I care how quiet it is when I'm not on vacation? If you're catering to tourism and renting out a cabin, then it has to be quiet, as expected. Either you should honestly include that in the description or simply not rent the cabin at that time of year. Furthermore, misusing leaf blowers for haymaking has nothing to do with traditional mountain meadow farming. These devices should be banned altogether in a region where tourism is one of the most important economic sectors. It's such a shame, because the cabin and its location are actually beautiful. But the incessant noise, caused by the local residents themselves, and the landlady's inflexible attitude regarding departure made our stay here anything but relaxing.
