A beautiful, cozy little house, tastefully furnished and located directly below the castle ruins in a historic village, on a car-free path lined with cats, fig, nut, and lemon trees. And a phenomenal view of the sea. A small grocery store is right across the street. We've stayed here several times with our three children (ages 2 to 16) and always had a great time: a piazza with delicious pizza, a playground and soccer field 400 meters away, the beach is a 10-minute drive, Taormina is just around the corner, and Mount Etna isn't far away. You can hike into the hills right from the front door or drive a little further and explore the rugged mountain scenery. The friendly, easy-going owners speak German and are very helpful, offering great tips for excursions (their website is highly recommended!). We'll be back!
The house is located in the heart of Forza's old town. It's within easy walking distance (about 200m) from the parking area. A small grocery store is diagonally opposite, and the bakery is about a 7-minute walk away. The house has three floors connected by a narrow staircase. The two sleeping floors each have a bathroom with a shower, toilet, and bidet. The furnishings are quite comprehensive. From ample dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans to a coffee maker, dishwasher, and washing machine, we lacked nothing. The decorations complement the house's old-world charm. The town became famous as a filming location for The Godfather and is situated at an altitude of approximately 450 meters above sea level. Experience driving on winding roads is therefore recommended. At the entrance to the town and within the town itself, there are several restaurants and bars, all offering delicious food. In the evenings, the kiosk on the piazza is open, serving tasty cocktails and other drinks. There are enough residents who understand German, so communication works very well even for those who don't speak Italian. Communication with the homeowner was also easy and straightforward.
